Super Mario Brothers World 4 Ghost House
Talk a trip through the World 4 Ghost House…
Step 1
Hit the ? switch to drop a bunch of ? blocks into this room. The one to the left of the switch holds a power-up and you can ride any block to the room above.
Step 2
The hinged devices on this stage will take you through the walls, but it is a one-way trip. If you want to get the first star coin, make sure you have snagged it (by punching through the blocks above) before you step onto the hinged contraption near the star coin or at point 2.
Step 3
Like their smaller cousins, Balloon Boos won’t move while you are looking at them. But they will react to your gaze by sucking in air to grow to massive sizes and won’t shrink again until you turn your back.
Step 4
If you are heading this direction, you will need to use the P switch to transform the pipe-obstructing blocks into coins.
Step 5
The ! switch in this room will make all of the outlined blocks become solid, giving you a ledge from which to open the door and proceed.
Step 6
This ! switch at point 6 creates a ledge at the lip of the pipe so you can proceed, and also creates two walls of red blocks that you can wall jump between to reach a star coin.
Step 7
Only Mini Mario can reach the final star coin and the red-flag exit to a warp cannon. There is no Mini Mushroom in this stage, so you will need to bring one with you. Use the ! switch to get above the pipe, eat your mushroom and wall jump as Mini Mario to the ledge at point 7. Continue wall jumping past the exit door and into the final star coin.
World 4-5
Step 1
You cannot smash the blocks at point 1 from below, but you can hit the one the Bob-omb is standing on to knock over the Bob-omb and light its fuse. The blast will destroy a few blocks in either direction.
Step 2
There is a 1-up loop and point 2, but it will require some careful sculpting. Detonate a few Bob-ombs on or near the fourth step to create a pit at floor level that has an indestructible block on either side. Toss a Koopa shell or a Spiny (found to the right) into the pit – it will bounce from side to side, killing Bob-ombs for 1-ups.
Step 3
The easiest way to get the 1-up at point 3 is to hit the Bob-ombs in the block structure, then smash the two blocks to the right of the structure. Jump from the top of the ? blocks onto the structure, then ground pound he block that holds the 1-up mushroom.
Step 4
Set off a Bob-omb near the otherwise-indestructible blocks at point 4 to blast open a path to a star coin.
Step 5
Try to hit a Bob-omb so it lands and explodes below the star coin. You can then leap into the block structure from the tip of the drawbridge below.
Step 6
Grab a Bob-omb, slip between the drawbridges and set the Bob-omb on the blocks that cap the pipe. Its blast will destroy the blocks, allowing you to enter the room through the pipe. To get the star coin, you cannot merely detonate each Bob-omb in its initial position – you will need to take one to the blocks near the star coin.
